About the role

Are you the kind of person who thrives on variety, enjoys being the go-to support for a busy team, and takes pride in keeping things organised and running smoothly? If you love working with people, coordinating a wide range of administrative activities, and being involved in everything from contracts and procurement to meetings, reporting and team support, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

As the Business Support Officer within the Environmental Services Branch, you'll play a central role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring they have the tools, information and administrative support needed to deliver important environmental outcomes across the PTA. From supporting environmental management systems and processes, performance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives, to contract administration, tracking budgets, training coordination and assisting with recruitment and onboarding activities, you'll be at the heart of a collaborative and fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

We're looking for a friendly, proactive and highly organised individual who enjoys building strong relationships and providing exceptional service to colleagues and stakeholders. You will bring experience in administration or office support, confidence in managing multiple priorities, and a keen eye for detail. Your ability to communicate effectively, work independently, solve problems and identify opportunities to improve processes will be highly valued. In return, you'll join a supportive team that values collaboration, initiative and continuous improvement, where your contribution will make a genuine difference and where you'll have the opportunity to develop a broad range of skills and experience.

About You!

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Experience in an administrative or office management support role.
  • Experience supporting health, safety, environment or quality management systems will be highly regarded.
  • The ability to use initiative and deal with complex and confidential issues in a discreet and sensitive manner.
  • Experience in the preparation of procurement and administration of consultancy contracts for quote and engagement of external services.
  • Knowledge and understanding of procurement practices as they relate to the State Public Sector.
  • Demonstrated capacity to prioritise work, meet targets and deadlines, and deal with competing demands
