Darling Range Sports College is a highly successful comprehensive Independent Public School with a student population of around 1,100 and over 120 teaching and support staff. Darling Range Sports College first opened in 1975 as Forrestfield Senior High School and later transitioned to a sports college in 2008. It is unique in Western Australia as the only sports college in the state.
As an Independent Public School, we provide specialist sporting programs in Australian Football League (AFL), athletics, baseball, basketball, netball, rugby league, soccer, swimming and triathlon and in 2023, we will be incorporating Australian Football League Woman (AFLW). Our teams train and play in our state of the art facilities where athletes also have access to the strength and conditioning centre.

The Role
The successful applicant will develop and establish quality and innovative Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs whilst enabling students to achieve Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE), strengthen the link between industry, other schools and community agencies. The successful applicant will promote apprenticeship and traineeship pathways whilst working as a part of the Pathways Team to develop lower school programs that focus on students’ future employment and education opportunities and support teachers to implement these programs ou will implement strategies to enhance the quality and reputation of VET in Schools programs whilst developing programs to meet local skill shortage needs.
The successful applicant will develop targeted VET programs for a variety of student groups including educationally disadvantaged, Indigenous students and students with disability and students at risk of disengaging whilst monitoring and maintaining the school’s Registered Training Organisation (RTO) compliance requirements and keep abreast of changes. The successful applicant will engage and mentor students in training and assessment processes, ensuring students are fully aware of course requirements, timelines and resources. You will maintain and continuously improve delivery and assessment materials in accordance with Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) standards, Training Package guidelines and updates, and Department standards.
