Lead Data Sharing Analyst
Salary: PSCSA Level 6 $120,457 - $132,753 p.a. pro rata plus 12% superannuation

Wanted: Experienced and motivated analyst with strong technical leadership in shaping data-sharing programs and maintaining stable, reliable platforms. Passionate about cross-sector collaboration and enhancing the access and use of location information to benefit the community. 

Location Services provides trusted location data and spatial services to support the management and development of Western Australia to benefit the community. Data Collaboration ensures reliable data platforms to enable the efficient sharing of location information, and the quality and timely provision of data sharing and collaboration programs.

Working in a small team, the Lead Data Sharing Analyst provides expert advice and applies significant expertise to deliver Location Services functions which include:

  • Maintaining reliable and secure online data platforms to support the discovery, access and sharing of public-sector location data.
  • Publishing data on behalf of public sector data custodians into collaboration platforms.
  • Supporting customers and stakeholders with data requests and queries.
  • Platform incident management and support through the IT service provider.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs and promote the value of online data platforms.

Please note, although this role does not have any roles reporting to it, it is expected that the Lead Data Sharing Analyst will coach and mentor other staff in technical roles.

There is one Permanent Full-time vacancy currently available. However part time arrangements may be considered.

Role Requirements

To be successful in this role, please demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in a relevant field such as geospatial, data analytics or related disciplines including the maintenance of geospatial and data-sharing systems.
  • Expert proficiency with relevant software and technology such as ArcGIS, FME and other ETL tools used in the automation of geospatial and non-geospatial workflows.
  • Ability to proactively problem-solve and anticipate customer needs, delivering high-quality customer-focused outcomes within relevant constraints and obligations. 
  • Previous experience mentoring, coaching and developing technical staff, promoting continuous improvement and team development.  
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Desirable

  • Possession of or progress towards a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
