About Infrastructure
The Infrastructure team develops and manages infrastructure programs and projects. It ensures Western Australia’s cultural, arts, sporting and recreation infrastructure are well planned, designed and managed to meet community needs in line with Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries’ strategic objectives.
About the role

The State Government, through DLGSC, is delivering close to $1 billion in cultural and sporting infrastructure over the next 5 years. In addition, we deliver grants programs in excess of $400 million and manage infrastructure assets worth over $2 billion.
We are seeking to establish a pool of dedicated Senior Project Managers to assist with the planning and delivery of a portfolio of major and capital projects, and delivery of new grants funding programs on behalf of the State Government.
We currently have one fixed term (12 months), full time (75hrs p/f) position available for immediate filling, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
The DLGSC Infrastructure Division is divided into two business areas and we be utilising this pool to appoint to Level 6 Senior Project Manager roles within both areas:
Infrastructure - Major & Capital Projects
The Senior Project Manager liaises with key stakeholders and state government agencies to influence the planning, design, delivery and management of social, community and creative industries infrastructure for sport, recreation and the arts and cultural industries. This role provides project management services, including identifying and managing project workstreams for planning, design, construction, transition to operations and related to scope, risk, cost management and project governance for the planning and delivery of DLGSC capital and major infrastructure works projects. This role supports the Major and Capital Projects infrastructure division overall program of works and Program Management Office, as required.
Infrastructure - Strategic Policy, Programs and Asset Management
The Senior Project Manager liaises with and provides advice to other government agencies, state sporting associations, local government, not for profit and private organisations and the community to respond to strategic directions identified by the Department regarding the planning of national, state, regional and local sport, recreation and community infrastructure. You will perform project, contract and grant management functions relating to state government investment in local, regional and state sporting and recreation related infrastructure. This role will be responsible for implementing Government priorities and policies, including delivering election commitments related to community infrastructure.
Suitable applicants should possess:
- Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to organise and coordinate a range of initiatives to successfully achieve desired outcomes.
- The ability to identify issues and implement changes utilising research, conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
- Experience in policy and strategy development, analysis and implementation.
