The Role
The successful applicant will support English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EALD) students through mentoring and pastoral care to ensure their participation and achievement in the school environment. The successful applicant will also support students through interpreting and/or translating according to their specific needs and their parents or caregivers, members of the school community and teachers where there are communication difficulties. The role require you to support students to better utilise the educational program and increase understanding of cultural and linguistic diversity in schools. You will support students with developing linguistic and cultural understandings associated with Standard Australian English.
You will assist the teacher in the delivery of planned education programs, including identifying and representing educational and cultural needs of EALD students by providing advice on program content relating to the student’s first culture. In addition to this you will assist in the design, implementation and recording of individual or group education plans, in consultation with teachers, parents and where appropriate other professionals.

- Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well-being of students.
