The Department of Education is establishing an appointment pool of eligible candidates to be placed in teaching vacancies as part of the 2025-2026 Teach For Australia Program.
You are only eligible for this appointment pool if you have received a ‘Conditional offer to participate in the Leadership Development Program Cohort 2025’ from Teach For Australia.
The Teach For Australia Program is an employment-based pathway into teaching which allows participants (known as Associates) to complete a Master of Teaching while undertaking a paid 2‑year placement in a school. To be eligible for inclusion in the 2025‑2026 Teach For Australia Program you must have already completed at least a Bachelor’s degree (or be on track to successfully do so by December 2024) in a discipline other than teaching and meet the requirements for enrolment in at least 2 learning areas in the Master of Teaching (Secondary) (Leading Learning) at the Australian Catholic University. For further information regarding the Teach For Australia Program please visit www.teachforaustralia.org.
This pool will be used to fill 2-year fixed-term, full-time vacancies at Western Australian public schools eligible to participate in the 2025‑2026 Teach For Australia Program. Appointments will be made for the commencement of the 2025 academic year. A list of schools eligible to participate in the 2025‑2026 Program is attached above.
Applications will close on 20 December 2024.
Appointments from the pool can be made until 28 February 2025. Only applicants placed in the pool will be considered for vacancies.
Selection from the pool will be based on a number of factors, including the applicant’s eligibility to teach the subject required and their status as a Teach For Australia Associate.
Offers of employment will be conditional upon the applicant being granted Limited Registration from the Teacher Registration Board of WA.
Ongoing employment throughout the 2-year appointment will be conditional upon the applicant’s ongoing participation and satisfactory progress in the Teach For Australia Program.
Applicants appointed from this pool will be provided paid study leave equivalent to one day per week for the purpose of their participation in the Teach For Australia Program.
