Eglinton South West Primary School (ESWPS) (Planning Name) will open its doors to the community of Eglinton at the commencement of 2025. We have a vision to create an inclusive school where every child can succeed. We are seeking a committed, resilient and highly motivated foundation Associate Principal. The school will be working to establish strong relationships across the entire school community including staff, parents, students and outside agencies. The development of a successful and caring professional learning community will be a prime focus for the school and for the Leadership Team.
The successful applicant should promote and maintain high expectations and lead Teaching, Learning and Assessment across K-6. They will ideally be collaborative and team focussed, working with the leadership team, teaching and support staff to establish and deliver programs and policies that progress student achievement in line with ‘Every Student, Every Classroom, Every day.’
The successful applicant should have knowledge and experience in leading and implementing contemporary curriculum and pedagogical practices to build teacher capacity across the breadth of the curriculum. They will ideally use data and research to inform decision making and use coaching to create and support effective teams. The successful applicant should build a blended pedagogy of explicit teaching and play and inquiry learning across K-6. Experience in effective change management, growing high performing teams and embedding a performance and development culture will be highly regarded. Classroom observation and feedback cycles will be embedded in the role as a means of promoting and strengthening ‘best practice’ teaching in the school.
Experience in the development and use of quality data tracking tools; data collection and analysis; knowledge of Early Childhood Education (ECE) and National Quality Standard; Information Communications and Technologies leadership and supporting students from diverse cultural backgrounds is an advantage.
ESWPS will have an endorsed Education Support Program and specialist facilities and we are seeking an Associate Principal who has inclusive practices and is passionate about the opportunity to work in an integrated one school model, alongside a dedicated Associate Principal, Inclusion.

The school is located 48 kilometres North of Perth in the growing suburb of Eglinton, close to the ocean, surrounded by rapidly developing housing estates with many young families. The school will have state-of-the-art facilities with a purpose-built ECE centre, two double story teaching blocks a dedicated Education Support facility, library and undercover area. Specialist teaching areas for Music/Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Science, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics will also be included.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
