Collection of personal information
PageUp People Limited (PageUp), acting as the system service provider on behalf of the Public Sector Commission of Western Australia, collects personal information to create and manage your Jobs Board account and send you “job alerts” that you sign up for. PageUp’s Privacy Policy can be found here: https://www.pageuppeople.com/privacy-policy/
The personal information collected includes your name, contact details and account related information.
Application information that is provided as part of WA Public Sector recruitment processes is not handled by this system. Further information about how your personal information is handled as part of recruitment processes at different agencies can be found on the system where you submitted the application.
Purpose of collection and use
Your personal information is used solely to administer and maintain your Jobs Board profile and support authorised recruitment communications.
Requests to provide information
Generally, you will know if we are collecting your personal information because we will ask you for it. For example, if you click “apply” or subscribe to receive job alerts (emailed newsletters), we will ask you to provide your name and contact details.
Providing us with the requested information is voluntary. If you do not choose to provide us with the requested information, we may not be able to respond to you or provide you with the service you are seeking.
Automatic collection by third parties
We use online tools to gather information about visitors to our website, this helps us improve our website and deliver government services. To do this, we use software provided third party vendors, Google Analytics, which is a web analytics service that collects data about how you use our site and services, and Clarity which is a user behaviour analytics service that collects data about how users interact with our site and service. We only collect anonymous information. No identifiable personal data is collected.
Use of web analytics data
We use the information collected about how you use the jobs board and how the website performs during your visit for statistical and system administration purposes. We do this to help:
- monitor and understand usage trends to make sure the jobs board is meeting the needs of its users
- understand and enhance your experience of the jobs board (for example, to improve content or make performance improvements)
- monitor and protect the jobs board from cyber security threats.
We do not use this information to identify you or match it with any other personal information we collect from you.
Disclosure of personal information
Your personal information may be disclosed to PageUp, as the contracted system service provider operating the Jobs Board on behalf of the Public Sector Commission.
Your personal information will not be disclosed to other third parties unless required for the purpose for which it is collected, authorised by law or with your permission.
Overseas disclosure of personal information
To deliver the WA Government Jobs Board services, including job alerts and notifications, PageUp as the system operator on behalf of the Public Sector Commission, uses third-party service providers to send email communications.
These service providers may store or process personal information (such as your name and email address) in locations outside Australia, including the United States and Europe.
Where personal information is handled overseas:
- it is only used for the purpose of delivering communication services on our behalf
- the Public Sector Commission requires our service providers to meet strict privacy and information security obligations.
These providers are not allowed to use your personal information for their own purposes, or for any secondary purposes unless explicitly approved by you. You can change your communication preferences at any time by changing your settings in your Job Seeker Profile.

User control
You control the information in your Profile and may update or remove information at any time. You may also request permanent deletion of your account, subject to legislative and recordkeeping obligations under the State Records Act 2000 (WA).
When an account is deleted or consent is withdrawn, your account is deactivated immediately.
De-identified and aggregated information
Your information may be used in de-identified and aggregated form for whole-of-sector reporting and workforce analysis, for example reporting on jobs board performance both internally to the Public Sector Commission and publicly.
Data security
Your personal information is stored securely in accordance with the Western Australian Government Cyber Security Policy 2024, Information Classification Policy 2025 and the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 with access restricted to authorised personnel on a role-related basis.
Retention and disposal
Personal information is retained and disposed of in accordance with the State Records Act 2000 (WA) and General Retention and Disposal Authority (DA 2023–004, section 48). You can “anonymise” your profile in Profile Settings at any time which, immediately suppresses and removes the profile information associated with you on the active system powering the WA Government Jobs site.
Automated decision-making
The Jobs Board does not use automated decision-making that produces legal or significant effects without human involvement.
Your rights
You have the right to access and correct your personal information, and to request deletion of your Profile information, this can be done via Profile settings on the WA Public Sector Jobs Board.
You have the right to make a complaint to the Public Sector Commission if you feel your privacy rights have been interfered with.
