We are seeking to establish a pool of Visitor Services Officers at the Museum of the Goldfields for vacancies that may arise within the next 18 months with the possibility of Casual, Fixed term, Part-time, Full-time, and Permanent appointments.

About the role
The role of the Visitor Services Officer (VSO) is to provide a welcoming environment and high-quality experience for visitors to the Museum of the Goldfields. The VSOs ensure the safety of visitors and staff within the Museum, as well as the security of the Museum collection.
Special Conditions: There is a requirement for Visitor Services Officers to work a roster that includes weekends and evening shifts (applicable penalties apply).
About you
We are seeking dynamic, self-motivated individuals who enjoy working in a positive team environment and delivering a high-quality customer service.
The successful applicants will be expected to:
- Provide excellent customer service for Museum visitors, responding to their needs in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner.
- Provide advanced and specialised tours and interpretive programs, and assist with the delivery of education programs that contribute to visitors’ understanding and enjoyment of the Museum.
- Maintain the security of the Museum precinct, artefacts, objects, and displays by patrolling (i.e. walking and standing) the Museum and monitoring security systems.
- Assist with setting up special events, functions, and activities and provide function and event tours that may be presented in theme with the function or

Eligibility to Apply
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have the following:
- The legal right to work in Australia at the time of appointment. This may include Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or holders of a valid Visa that permits employment in Australia.
- A current (within six (6) months) National Police Clearance Certificatewill be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.
- A valid Working with Children Check (or, initially, the Post Office receipt of application for same will be accepted until official Check is received).
Pool Recruitment
This appointment Pool will be open for a period of 18 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Casual, fixed-term, part-time, full-time and permanent appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
Applicants found suitable in this Pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies with the WA Museum for the duration of the Pool.
