About the Role

The Venue Supervisor plays a key role in the successful delivery of events across the venue, working as part of the Venue Operations Team and the wider Sports and Events team to coordinate event operations from planning through to execution. This role is responsible for overseeing event set-up and pack-down activities, supervising staff and contractors, coordinating additional event resources, supporting Venue Event Control during events, and often acting as a point of contact for clients and contractors.

Working closely with Events, other internal stakeholders and the rest of the Venue Operations team, the Venue Supervisor ensures venue hire requirements are delivered safely, efficiently and to client expectations. The role is hands-on and highly operational, requiring strong coordination, communication and problem-solving skills to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic event environment.

In addition to event delivery responsibilities, the Venue Supervisor supports the day-to-day operation of the venue, including opening and closing procedures, minor venue set-ups, responding to incidents and service requests, and undertaking Chief Fire Warden responsibilities. The role contributes to maintaining a safe, functional and customer-focused venue seven days a week.

The position operates on a rotating roster and requires availability to work outside standard business hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, in line with event and venue operational requirements. Shift loadings apply where applicable. 

We currently have one permanent full-time position (1.0 FTE) and one permanent part-time position (0.5 FTE) available. These positions are based at Perth High Performance Centre, Mount Claremont, although successful applicants may be required to work across other VenuesWest facilities as operational needs dictate.

Due to the nature of the work undertaken, this position may be first responder to incidents and therefore may be exposed to stressful situations and events in the workplace. VenuesWest is committed to proactively ensuring the psychosocial safety and health of our workers through risk control and provision of services to support workers exposed to and impacted by traumatic events.

We are seeking to establish a pool of suitable Venue Supervisors to fill permanent and fixed-term opportunities that may arise through to September 2027.

About the Person

Our ideal candidate will have significant relevant experience in function and/or event production within a sport, recreation or entertainment venue. Candidates with facility maintenance or management  experience will be highly regarded.
