About the role
The Training Officer plays a key role in developing and delivering workforce capability across the Sheriff’s Office. Responsible for the design, implementation, management, and delivery of training programs and development solutions, the role ensures staff are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to perform effectively in a dynamic operational environment.
The Training Officer develops and enhances training initiatives that support both individual development and organisational objectives. The role also monitors and evaluates training delivery and assessment outcomes, maintains training records and reporting, and provides insights into workforce capability trends and emerging training needs.
This position is ideal for a proactive and collaborative professional who is passionate about learning and development and committed to fostering a capable, high-performing workforce.
The Sheriff’s Office of Western Australia plays a vital role in supporting the justice system and community safety across the State. Our responsibilities include:
- Enforcing civil court orders
- Enforcing fines, penalties and infringement notices
- Serving witness summonses on behalf of the State
- Delivering court and tribunal security and custodial services
- Managing jury services across Western Australia.
Suitability Requirements
Through the recruitment process, we will be looking for candidates who can demonstrate skills, experience and attributes in relation to the following:
- Achieves Results - demonstrated experience planning, coordinating and delivering training and development programs, including the ability to manage competing priorities, evaluate outcomes, and ensure training objectives are achieved within agreed timeframes.
- Builds Productive Relationships - demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, managers and stakeholders, working collaboratively to identify learning needs and support workforce capability development.
- Communicates and Influences Effectively - well-developed communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to deliver engaging training, provide constructive feedback, prepare training materials and reports, and communicate information clearly to diverse audiences.
Eligibility Requirements
- Possession of a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification.
- Possession of a current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid qualification (or equivalent).
- It is a requirement of the position holder to hold a valid driver’s licence.
