About the Opportunity

Are you an experienced technology service delivery professional who enjoys leading teams, improving services and solving complex problems?

The Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure is seeking a collaborative and proactive Technology Service Delivery Team Leader to lead the day-to-day delivery of responsive and reliable IT support services across the organisation.

This permanent opportunity will see you lead and develop a technical support team, strengthen relationships with service providers and stakeholders, and drive improvements that enhance the experience of technology users across DTMI.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, support and develop the Technology Service Delivery Team, including the Service Desk and Desktop Support function.
  • Coordinate incident and problem management processes in line with the ITIL framework.
  • Oversee technology service delivery platforms, portals, user access and software licences.
  • Plan and deliver technology projects, managing resources, budgets and agreed outcomes.
  • Build productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
  • Negotiate and manage service level agreements to support seamless service delivery.
  • Provide high-level technical advice and develop clear policies, procedures and user documentation.
  • Monitor service performance, identify improvement opportunities and support informed technology investment decisions.
  • Contribute to cyber-security, risk management, business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
  • Champion continuous improvement and positively support organisational change.

About you

You are an experienced and people-focused leader who can balance operational priorities with longer-term service improvements.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Considerable experience working in IT service delivery within a large and complex organisation.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Relevant project management experience within an information technology environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to resolve complex service delivery issues.
  • Knowledge of contemporary technology directions and continuous improvement practices.
  • The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively and productively to team outcomes.

Special Requirements

  • A national police clearance incorporating criminal and traffic convictions and infringements is required.
