As a Visual Arts Teacher, you should bring creativity and a genuine passion for helping students explore and develop their artistic practice. You will teach the Visual Arts curriculum across Years 7 to 9 and contribute your ideas and experience within a supportive Arts team. Experience across a range of 2D, 3D and studio practices will be highly regarded.

The successful applicant will ideally create engaging learning experiences that encourage students to think creatively, explore new ideas and build confidence through innovative approaches. Experience supporting and extending Gifted and Talented students would be highly advantageous, along with a commitment to fostering wellbeing, excellence, play and thoughtful risk-taking through Visual Arts. We value educators who recognise the role of the Arts in developing broader capabilities including empathy, critical thinking, collaboration and communication.

Position 2: Teacher - Visual Arts and Drama: 12 month fixed term, part-time (0.7FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2027 with possible extension (12 months) and/or permanency.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working Arts teacher who is ready to grow with us. The successful applicant will ideally bring strong expertise in either Drama or Visual Arts, together with a genuine willingness to develop their skills in the other discipline. Perhaps you’ve achieved great things in your career so far but haven’t yet found the school where you truly fit. If so, we’d love to hear from you. Ideally, you will have the professional knowledge and experience to deliver The Arts curriculum across Years 7 to 9, with skills in a range of 2D, 3D studio, production and performance practices highly regarded. In return, we offer a supportive team, room to develop across both disciplines, and a place where your energy and ideas will be valued.

Applecross SHS Arts teachers support and extend Gifted and Talented students. They engage curiously with learners of different contexts and backgrounds. They are committed to supporting wellbeing, excellence, play, risk, and creativity in developing transferable life skills such as empathy, and critical thinking, collaboration and the ability to communicate; all important attributes for any future pathway
