The Role

The successful applicant will ideally be a highly motivated and engaging teacher with a passion for Visual Arts education and a commitment to student success.

The successful applicant should deliver engaging and inclusive Visual Arts programs that inspire students to explore, create, and critically respond to artworks and artistic practices. They should have contemporary pedagogical approaches, effective classroom management, and a commitment to supporting students from diverse backgrounds and with varying learning needs.

The ability to teach across a range of secondary year levels is highly desirable. Experience teaching senior secondary Visual Arts courses and preparing students for exhibitions, competitions, and community-based arts initiatives will be highly regarded.

The successful applicant would ideally have the capacity to:

• Deliver high-quality Visual Arts programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum.
• Differentiate teaching and learning programs to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Use student achievement data to inform planning and improve learning outcomes.
• Establish and maintain positive and productive learning environments.
• Work collaboratively within the Arts Learning Area and contribute to whole-school priorities.
• Participate in professional learning and reflective practice to continually improve teaching effectiveness.

The successful applicant will ideally be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and the wider community. They should contribute to a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement, supporting the school's commitment to improving outcomes for all students.
