This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2027
Cyril Jackson Senior Campus (SC) provides students with an alternative approach to Year 11 and Year 12 schooling. It is one of two senior campuses in Western Australia that offer secondary education to students beyond the compulsory age of 18 years. It hosts an Intensive English Centre (IEC) which caters for up to 250 newly arrived migrant or refugee students. These students participate in an English language program for up to two years before completing Years 11 and 12. International Fee-Paying Students are also accepted.
In addition to IEC graduates, students in Years 11 and Year 12 include school-aged students working towards their Western Australian Certificate of Education, 18 and 19 years old repeaters and mature age students. These students are returning to education to gain tertiary entrance qualifications, following an interest or to gain a skill-based qualification. Enrolments are accepted from across Western Australia and students hail from many diverse backgrounds. Students enrol because they see Cyril Jackson SC as a place of opportunity to further their education.
The Vision of Cyril Jackson SC is to deliver relevant and applicable learning experiences that foster hope and meet the needs of students. Respect and inclusivity are valued as are opportunity, achievement and resilience. As a school, “CJ Changes Lives”.

The Role
This position, which is not dedicated to a learning area, seeks to recruit a teacher who is ideally able to manage the allocation of teacher relief and the administration of Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA). The successful applicant would teach within the school’s timetabled program or undertake relief across the school up to 0.6 FTE.
There may be a requirement to commence the school day in accordance with the requirements of relief planning and preparation, however this will also see an early end to rostered workday as the normal 1600 minutes of a teacher on-site will be applied. This can be negotiated with the successful applicant; however, flexible hours is a critical feature of the role. To maintain records of relief undertaken, the successful applicant will ideally have a good working knowledge of Excel.
Due to several factors, Cyril Jackson SC has a high percentage of the cohort undertake OLNA and a significant degree of planning, management and administrative skills will be expected. The successful applicant would liaise with School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) over OLNA as it’s an integral part of this role.
The desired applicant would undertake relief across the school, including in the Intensive English Centre and will ideally be flexible in terms of subjects and classes assigned and accepting of a diverse weekly work program. In addition, the successful applicant would liaise with the school’s executive team and be line managed by a Deputy Principal.
Teachers appointed to Cyril Jackson SC are expected to apply the principles of the School Pedagogical Framework in their work. Details outlining the Framework can be found in the attached document.
