Babakin Primary School is a small, family-oriented school located in the heart of Western Australia’s Central Wheatbelt. We cater for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and currently operate one well-resourced, multi-age classroom. The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable and highly motivated teacher to join our close-knit team at Babakin Primary School. This position offers a unique opportunity to teach within a small, well-resourced multi-age setting, where strong relationships and a detailed understanding of each student are central to teaching and learning.

The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated learning experiences across a range of year levels. They will have a sound knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and display the ability to use assessment and evidence to identify individual learning needs, monitor progress and provide appropriate challenge and support for every student.

Teaching in a small school requires flexibility, initiative and a willingness to contribute beyond the classroom. We are looking for a teacher who can work both independently and collaboratively, communicate openly with colleagues and families, and build positive relationships with students. The successful applicant will be organised, reflective and willing to contribute their ideas, strengths and interests to the broader life of the school.

Strong literacy and numeracy teaching is an important part of the role. Babakin Primary School has established whole-school approaches that provide consistency in teaching and learning, including InitiaLit, Word Origins and Stepping Stones. Previous experience with these programs would be desirable but is not essential, as appropriate training and support will be made available to the successful applicant. We are looking for a teacher who is willing to engage with these established approaches while contributing their own professional knowledge and expertise.

Applicants should display effective classroom practice, sound classroom management and the capacity to cater for students working across different year levels and stages of development within the same classroom. An ability to use technology creatively to enhance teaching and learning would also be highly regarded.
