The Role

Suitable applicants will ideally be highly motivated, reflective and data-informed educators who demonstrate a strong commitment to improving student outcomes. They should have the capacity to analyse student achievement data, identify areas of need and use this information to plan differentiated teaching, targeted intervention and ongoing assessment.

Applicants should possess a strong knowledge of evidence-based literacy and numeracy instruction, including the Science of Reading, explicit teaching and the Gradual Release of Responsibility model. Experience with, or a willingness to develop knowledge of, programs and approaches including Letters and Sounds, Heggerty Phonemic Awareness, Word Origins and ORIGO Mathematics will be highly regarded.

Applicants should display the ability to plan and deliver effective teaching and learning programs within a split classroom. This includes differentiating instruction across year levels, managing varied curriculum and assessment requirements, and ensuring all students are appropriately supported and challenged.

Suitable applicants will ideally understand the Quality Teaching Strategy (QTS) and display a commitment to high-impact teaching practices, classroom observation, feedback, coaching and ongoing reflective practice. They should be open to working collaboratively with colleagues to evaluate the impact of their teaching and strengthen consistent whole-school approaches.

Applicants will ideally possess the leadership capabilities required to contribute beyond their classroom, including leading or contributing to committees, coordinating whole-school programs, coaching colleagues and supporting the implementation and evaluation of school improvement priorities.

Suitable applicants will also ideally display a high level of information and communication technology capability and the capacity to effectively integrate digital technologies into teaching and learning.

As valued members of a small regional school, suitable applicants will ideally be collaborative, flexible and community minded. They should be willing to undertake additional responsibilities and contribute actively to the broader life of the school and local community.
