We are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - Primary for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

West Busselton Primary School is a thriving, community-focused school located in the heart of Busselton, where our vision of Believing in Achieving underpins everything we do. We are proud of our strong culture of care, high expectations and collaboration, which ensures every child is known, valued and supported to succeed.

Our dedicated staff work together to deliver a balanced curriculum that blends explicit instruction with engaging, inquiry-rich learning experiences. We place a strong emphasis on student wellbeing and positive behaviour support, creating safe, predictable and inclusive environments where students are ready to learn and achieve their personal best.

As a school, we are committed to continuous improvement, collaboration and collective leadership. Through professional learning, distributed leadership structures and whole-school approaches to curriculum and wellbeing, we aim to create an environment where teachers are supported to develop their practice and where both staff and students can thrive.

The Role

We are seeking positive, motivated and skilled teachers who are committed to making a difference for students and contributing to a strong, collaborative school culture.

Suitable applicants will ideally be able to create safe, inclusive and engaging learning environments characterised by strong relationships, clear expectations, effective behaviour management and high levels of student participation. They should display sound knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and use a range of evidence-informed teaching approaches, including explicit instruction and opportunities for students to apply their learning through discussion, inquiry, problem solving and higher-order thinking. Experience using Talk for Writing, UFLI Foundations and/or Word Origins would be desirable but is not essential.

Suitable applicants will be able to use assessment and student data to identify learning needs, plan targeted teaching and monitor student progress. They will ideally use this evidence to reflect on the impact of their practice, make informed adjustments and continually strengthen their teaching. Knowledge of multi-tiered approaches to supporting students across both learning and wellbeing will be highly regarded.

Our teachers work collaboratively within year-level and phase teams and contribute to agreed whole-school approaches to curriculum, teaching, behaviour and wellbeing. Professional growth is supported through collaboration, feedback and coaching, and suitable applicants should be open to learning from and alongside colleagues.

Strong relationships with students, families and colleagues are central to our work. We are looking for teachers who bring high expectations, positivity and professionalism, and who contribute to a culture of collective responsibility for student success.
