The Role

As teachers at our school, suitable applicants will ideally display knowledge and experience in Explicit Instruction and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), with a strong commitment to implementing consistent whole-school approaches and Tier 1 supports. Applicants will ideally display an understanding of, or willingness to develop their practice in, the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM), using trauma-informed, strengths-based and relationship-focused approaches to support student engagement, wellbeing and readiness to learn. They would foster and create safe, predictable and supportive learning environments in which all students, including students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), can thrive within a mainstream setting.

The ability to implement our whole-school social curriculum and embed BSEM strategies alongside PBS and Tier 1 supports would be highly advantageous. Applicants will ideally display a strong capacity to plan, deliver and assess learning programs, supported by a sound understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum. Experience implementing Explicit Mathmatics Program, Knowledge Units, UFLI and Spelling Mastery is desirable. Suitable applicants should also be committed to ongoing professional growth, collaborative planning and contributing positively to whole-school improvement processes, with a shared focus on improving outcomes for every student.

Our school includes a vibrant mainstream setting and a Specialised Learning Program - Autism, with a strong focus on inclusion, collaboration and student wellbeing to support children with ASD to successfully access mainstream education.
