We are seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Warriapendi Primary School (PS) is a high-performing, culturally diverse school located in Balga. Approximately 60% of students speak a language other than English at home and approximately 10% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Our staff embrace this diversity and share an unwavering commitment to high expectations, equity and ensuring every student experiences success and makes strong progress.
Warriapendi PS has an embedded culture of achievement and high expectations. The school's strong performance has been recognised through its selection as a finalist for Primary School of the Year in the 2018 WA Education Awards and its ongoing strong academic performance. Staff take pride not only in achieving excellent outcomes for Warriapendi PS students, but also in contributing to the broader education profession.

The Role
Suitable applicants will ideally display experience and a genuine passion for evidence-based, high-impact teaching. It is highly desirable for applicants to have knowledge and experience in Explicit Instruction and the delivery of programs such as Spelling Mastery, Explicit Maths Program (EMP) and Let's Decode. Teachers should be able to establish clear learning intentions, check frequently for understanding, maximise opportunities for students to respond and provide targeted feedback and support.
Teachers at Warriapendi PS work collaboratively to design and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with agreed English and Mathematics Scope and Sequences. Suitable applicants will ideally display a strong capacity to collect, analyse and respond to fine-grained student data at individual, class and cohort levels. They should be able to use this information to identify and address gaps in student knowledge, provide appropriate intervention and ensure students requiring extension are challenged at their point of need.
A commitment to ongoing professional growth would be highly regarded. Warriapendi PS invests significantly in staff development and provides access to Impact Coaches who model, co-plan and co-teach alongside teachers, as well as releasing staff to observe skilled practitioners in action. Suitable applicants will ideally be reflective, receptive to feedback and enthusiastic about working within a contemporary coaching model. They should value classroom observation, collaboration and collective responsibility for improving teaching practice and student outcomes.
The school provides a calm, orderly and supportive environment in which high-quality teaching can thrive. Behaviour is exemplary and is underpinned by deliberate teaching of expected behaviours, consistent routines, positive acknowledgement and restorative approaches. Staff pride themselves on deeply knowing their students and creating a genuine sense of belonging and connection. Suitable applicants will ideally display strong classroom management, an ability to build positive relationships with students and families, and a commitment to maintaining high expectations for all learners.
Warriapendi PS has highly effective Students at Educational Risk (SAER) and case management processes, supported by strong partnerships between teachers, families, school leaders, external agencies, our Student Wellbeing Officer and School Psychologist. Applicants should display the capacity to effectively cater for diverse learning needs and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to support students requiring additional academic, behavioural, social or emotional support.
