The Role
We are seeking highly effective and collaborative teachers who are enthusiastic about contributing to our ongoing school improvement journey. A commitment to evidence-based teaching practices, whole-school approaches, continuous professional growth, and positive behaviour support is essential. Applicants should have exemplary teaching skills, a growth mindset, and an understanding of differentiation and trauma-informed practice to meet the diverse academic, social and emotional needs of all students. The ability to establish safe, inclusive and well-managed learning environments through strong relationships and consistent classroom practices is highly valued. We have a culturally diverse student population so being culturally responsive and aware is essential.
As a member of our team, you will utilise high-impact teaching strategies and deliver engaging literacy and numeracy programs that maximise student learning outcomes. You should use assessment data to monitor progress, provide meaningful feedback, and inform responsive teaching and intervention. We value educators who thrive in collaborative team structures, embrace connected whole-school practice, and are committed to building positive relationships with students, families and colleagues while contributing to a welcoming and inclusive school culture.
Swan View PS is committed to a consistent, evidence-based approach to teaching, learning and student wellbeing. Our staff implement a range of whole-school programs and frameworks, including Shaping Minds practices, Classroom Management Strategies, the Berry Street Education Model, Top Ten Mathematics, UFLI Foundations, Word Origins, and North East Metropolitan Language Development Centre (NEMLDC) reading and writing practices. Experience with, or knowledge of, these approaches is highly desirable.
Suitable applicants will display a willingness to engage in ongoing professional learning, embrace feedback, and contribute positively to a culture of continuous improvement. Collaboration with our instructional coach is an expected component of the role, including participation in coaching cycles, professional discussions, classroom observation, and reflective practice to strengthen teaching effectiveness and student outcomes.
