The Role

We are seeking an accomplished Health and Physical Education teacher with a strong Outdoor Education and general Health and Physical Education background to join our team while delivering the Western Australian Curriculum across Years 7 to 12. The learning area works closely together on planning, curriculum development, moderation and the analysis of student achievement data. New staff, whether graduate or experienced, are supported through a comprehensive induction, and every teacher is provided with a school laptop.

We are seeking an educator who ideally:

• Delivers engaging Outdoor Education programs that build students' practical skills, self-reliance, teamwork and decision making in outdoor settings.
• Plans and leads camps, expeditions and off-site activities with sound risk management and a strong commitment to student safety.
• Teaches Health and Physical Education classes that develop students' movement competence, health literacy and lifelong participation in physical activity.
• Designs inclusive, student-centred learning that responds to students' strengths and learning needs.
• Uses formative and summative assessment, achievement data and targeted feedback to drive sustained improvement.
• Embraces our school-wide pedagogical approach, including explicit instruction and high-impact teaching strategies.
• Contributes to pastoral care, co-curricular opportunities and the collaborative work of the learning area, and models our values of Care, Respect, Responsibility and Excellence.

Experience delivering Outdoor Education is highly regarded. Relevant qualifications and currency in activities such as bushwalking, camping, paddling, climbing, cycling or aquatics are highly desirable, along with current first aid certification. Depending on your experience and interests, there is scope to contribute to co-curricular sport and outdoor activities across the school.
