We are seeking to establish a pool of English Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Founded in 1955, Mount Lawley Senior High School (SHS) is located 5 kilometres from the Perth CBD. It comprises three sub-schools; Years 7 to 12. It hosts a Gifted and Talented Languages program, a Specialist Visual and Performing Arts program, a Music program and the innovative Aboriginal Excellence Program. The school offers a breadth of curriculum choices and has a rich history of student success and achievement.

The Role
Suitable applicants should have a focus on high performance and high care and will ideally display professional knowledge, practical application and understanding of the curriculum from Years 7 to 12. Ability to teach Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Literature or English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EALD) is desirable. Suitable applicants will ideally embrace and commit to the school’s Ethos and Vision. Ideally, they should be expert in engaging students and provide a learning environment that facilitates students at all levels achieving their full potential. Teachers at Mount Lawley SHS should embrace the school’s Pedagogical Framework (attached).
The work of staff should reflect a personal commitment to the values of the school: excellence, respect, perseverance and learning. Staff should engage in reflective practice, informed by a close examination of student performance incorporating data for relevant improvement plans. Teachers should work collaboratively with peers and within their various teams as part of a professional learning community.
