We are seeking to establish a pool of Early Childhood Education Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Wooroloo Primary School (PS) is a small, welcoming school located in the Perth Hills, approximately 60 kilometres east of the Perth CBD. Our school offers the close-knit feel and strong community connections of a country school while remaining within reach of metropolitan Perth. We cater for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 across two well-resourced, multi-age classrooms.

The Role

Ideally, we are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable and highly motivated Early Childhood Teacher to join our close-knit team at Wooroloo PS. This position provides a unique opportunity to teach a Kindergarten to Year 2 class within a small, well-resourced, multi-age setting where strong relationships and a detailed understanding of every student are central to teaching and learning.

Suitable applicants would plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate and differentiated learning experiences. They will ideally exhibit sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines and Western Australian Curriculum. Suitable applicants will use assessment data, observations and other evidence to identify individual learning needs, monitor progress and provide appropriate intervention, support and extension.

Teaching in a Level 3 school requires flexibility, initiative and a willingness to contribute beyond the classroom. Ideally, we are seeking teachers who work independently and collaboratively, communicate openly with colleagues and families, and build positive relationships with students. Suitable applicants will ideally be highly organised, reflective, receptive to feedback and willing to contribute their strengths and ideas to whole-school planning, events, programs and improvement processes.

Strong literacy and numeracy teaching will be central to the role. Wooroloo PS is strengthening the consistent implementation of agreed whole-school approaches and programs, including Heggerty, Letters and Sounds, Sound Waves, Talk for Writing and ORIGO Stepping Stones. Experience implementing these programs is highly desirable, although not essential as training will be provided. Suitable applicants would be expected to engage with agreed approaches, contribute to their ongoing development and implement them consistently and with fidelity.

Suitable applicants would work closely with education assistants and should be able to provide clear direction to ensure support is purposeful, targeted and focused on improving student learning, independence and engagement. They should also recognise the importance of intentional play-based learning and make effective use of both indoor and outdoor learning environments.
