Wyndham District High School (DHS) is a supportive Kindergarten to Year 12 (K–12) school with a strong culture of collaboration, reflection and professional growth. We use explicit teaching approaches and evidence-based programs and interventions, including Spelling Mastery, Let’s Decode and Explicit Maths Program. As a participant in the Kimberley Schools Project, staff have access to high-quality professional learning, with all teachers supported to participate in classroom coaching, observation and feedback.
Guided by our motto, ‘Positive Attitudes, High Expectations’, we are a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school with a strong focus on student wellbeing and trauma-informed practice. We are seeking culturally responsive educators who build strong relationships, hold high expectations for every student, and are keen to contribute to our school and the wider Wyndham community.
Wyndham is located 100 kilometres from Kununurra and has a population of approximately 800 people. It is surrounded by some of the Kimberley’s most spectacular landforms, rivers, and wetlands, offering a host of outback adventures.

The Role
Wyndham DHS is seeking an enthusiastic Year 1/2 Teacher to join our small, supportive K–12 school in the East Kimberley.
We’re looking for a teacher who builds strong relationships, creates a calm and engaging classroom, and holds high expectations for every child. You’ll value explicit teaching, strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, and working collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, families and community.
At Wyndham DHS, Positive Attitudes, High Expectations guides the way we work. Our whole-school approach includes Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), with a strong focus on belonging, relationships and consistent expectations. In the early years, our teachers use the Explicit Maths Program (EMP) to build strong numeracy foundations.
We are part of the Kimberley Schools Project and have a growing coaching culture, where teachers work alongside colleagues and instructional coaches to reflect on practice, share ideas and continually strengthen teaching and learning.
We’re looking for someone who is culturally responsive, flexible and positive, and who wants to become part of our school and the wider Wyndham community.
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative school community committed to strong relationships, high-quality teaching and improving outcomes for every student.
