The Role
We are seeking highly skilled and committed Early Childhood Teachers who are passionate about improving outcomes for young children and who understand the critical role that positive relationships, play-based learning and high expectations play in laying strong foundations for lifelong success.
We are particularly interested in applicants with displayed school-based experience in Kindergarten, who are committed to developmentally appropriate practice and who can build strong partnerships with Aboriginal families and the wider community.
Suitable applicants will ideally have the ability to:
- Implement whole-school programs, instructional frameworks, policies and agreed practices with fidelity while maintaining a strong focus on developmentally appropriate early childhood pedagogy.
- Build strong, positive and authentic relationships with children, families, colleagues and the broader community, recognising relationships as the foundation for learning and wellbeing.
- Establish and maintain effective partnerships with Aboriginal families, displaying cultural responsiveness, respect and a commitment to collaborative engagement.
- Create safe, inclusive, nurturing and culturally responsive learning environments where every child feels known, valued and supported.
- Deliver high-quality play-based learning programs that promote curiosity, creativity, language development, social competence and early academic success.
- Utilise contemporary early childhood practices to support children's cognitive, social, emotional, physical and communication development.
- Apply trauma-informed practices that recognise and respond to the diverse developmental, social, emotional and behavioural needs of young children.
- Maintain an unwavering belief in the capacity of every child to succeed, demonstrating unconditional positive regard while fostering independence, resilience and a love of learning.
- Differentiate teaching, learning experiences and assessment practices to meet the diverse strengths, interests and developmental needs of all children.
- Support children to develop positive self-regulation, social skills and learning behaviours through proactive, relationship-based approaches.
- Use evidence-informed behaviour support strategies to establish predictable routines, maximise engagement and create positive learning environments.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, allied professionals and families to plan, implement and monitor targeted supports that improve outcomes for children.
- Reflect on practice, seek feedback and engage in ongoing professional learning to strengthen teaching effectiveness and early childhood outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity for teachers who believe that strong relationships, meaningful family partnerships, culturally responsive practice and play-based pedagogy are fundamental to success in the early years. We are seeking educators who are committed to making a positive and lasting difference in the lives of young children and their families, while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing school community.
