Do you want to support your community, your region, your State? Do you have skills, knowledge and a desire to learn and contribute? If so, then we want to hear from you!

We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic professionals who are passionate about ensuring that public land is utilised and managed for everyone’s benefit. We are looking for people with a desire to learn and grow to assist in the management, activation and administration of Western Australia’s Crown land estate, which makes up approximately 92% of Western Australia’s land mass.

Our State Land Officers assist in the preparation of land-related projects and ensure state land records are accurately maintained. The Department engages and negotiates with a broad range of stakeholders including State Government, Local Government, industry, Aboriginal organisations and Traditional Owners, and the community to grant access and tenure outcomes over Crown land. As a member of the Department, you will also be provided opportunities to conduct regional travel to continue developing and nurturing our relationships with our stakeholders.

We provide comprehensive on-the-job training and opportunities for career advancement, helping you grow from an entry-level officer to a future leader.

We have one (1) full-time, permanent position available for immediate filling. However, this is also a pool recruitment process for permanent full-time, and fixed term full-time opportunities. This pool may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment.

To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate:

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to undertake research, analyse reports and prepare clear, concise documentation with recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying legislation.
  • Effective use of a broad range of PC applications including Microsoft suite and database software
  • Demonstrate the behaviours within the leadership context of Personal Leadership.

Core leadership behaviours outlined in Leadership Expectations are applicable to this role and should be demonstrated in the context of Personal Leadership. The Personal Leadership context is about the work of individuals not yet in traditional leadership positions who make a direct and immediate difference to the agency. The expected behaviours may be assessed during the recruitment and selection process.
