About the role
Do you have a passion for data and a keen eye for identifying trends, opportunities and solutions? Join the Service Development Team and play a key role in supporting the planning and optimisation of the Transperth Bus Network, Regional Town Bus and School Bus Services. This position offers the opportunity to use data-driven insights to influence service improvements and help deliver efficient, reliable and customer-focused public transport outcomes for communities across Western Australia.
As a Service Development Data Analyst, you will analyse and interpret data from a range of information systems, develop reports and visualisations, and provide insights that support network reviews and strategic decision-making. You will utilise patronage, operational and service performance data to identify trends, evaluate public transport service outcomes, and inform the planning and optimisation of public transport services. Working closely with planners, stakeholders and technical specialists, you will respond to business-critical data requests, ensure the accuracy of operational information, and identify opportunities to improve reporting capabilities, processes and systems. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing public transport services and supporting future network development.
We are seeking a collaborative and analytical professional with experience in data analysis, reporting and information systems. Experience analysing transport, operational, service performance or customer demand data would be highly regarded. You will possess strong problem-solving skills, the ability to communicate complex information clearly, and a commitment to continuous improvement. If you enjoy working with data to deliver meaningful outcomes and want to contribute to the future of public transport, we encourage you to apply.
About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Strong understanding of information systems, with a focus on data analytics and reporting.
- Proficient in utilising data visualisation tools and analytical techniques to interpret and present data insights effectively.
- Understanding of public transport systems, service planning principles, patronage trends and operational performance measures.
- Knowledge and experience of contemporary and relevant reporting tools, products and methodologies would be an advantage.
- Sound conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to analyse information and resolve complex problems and issues.
- Sound planning and organising skills, including the ability to reschedule and complete work during times when priorities are changed at short notice.
