About WAEC

Western Australia is a great place to live, work and participate in democracy. At the Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC), we are transforming electoral service delivery by modernising systems, strengthening organisational capability and enhancing the experience of voters, candidates and stakeholders.

We deliver impartial, independent and secure electoral services, maintain the electoral roll, support electoral reform and engagement initiatives, and conduct elections and referenda that Western Australians can trust.

At WAEC, we are guided by four values: Make it Count, Check Every Box, Focus on Fairness and Achieve Together. We are committed to building a workforce whose behaviours, leadership approach and commitment to public service reflect these values, recognising that cultural contribution is just as important as technical capability.

The Opportunity

As our Service Delivery Coordinator, you will coordinate electoral operations, election readiness activities and service delivery functions that support the delivery of trusted, impartial, accessible and contemporary electoral services across Western Australia.

Working within the Electoral Operations Directorate, you will coordinate operational activities, workforce deployment and election preparations for non-parliamentary electoral events. You will work closely with employees, temporary election staff and stakeholders to ensure services are delivered efficiently, compliantly and to a high standard.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised professional with strong planning, coordination and stakeholder engagement skills. You will contribute directly to Western Australia's democratic processes while supporting continuous improvement in operational capability, workforce readiness and service delivery performance.

By coordinating people, processes and resources, you will help deliver successful electoral events and maintain public confidence in Western Australia's democratic system. Experience in election delivery or a sound understanding of electoral processes will be highly regarded.

About You

You are a highly organised and proactive professional with strong planning, coordination and time management skills. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities effectively and deliver high-quality outcomes with a strong attention to detail.

You have experience coordinating staff, resources and operational activities, and are confident building productive relationships with a range of stakeholders. You communicate effectively, apply policies and procedures accurately, and adapt quickly to changing operational demands.

A sound understanding of election delivery and electoral operations is desirable, with previous election experience highly regarded.

You Will Be Able To:

  • Coordinate operational, service delivery or event-based activities involving staff, resources and logistics.
  • Plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines and service delivery requirements.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and maintain accuracy in operational processes and documentation.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and coordination to employees and temporary election staff.
  • Build productive stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively.
  • Interpret and apply legislation, policies, procedures and operational documentation.
  • Use a range of computer applications, databases and business systems.
  • Manage competing priorities and respond to changing operational requirements.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the successful delivery of elections and electoral events.
