The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Policy Officer to join our Strategic Programs team!

As a Senior Policy Officer, you will contribute to the development, analysis and evaluation of policies, strategies and initiatives that support driver licensing and identity services across Western Australia. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will undertake research, provide expert policy advice, develop evidence-based recommendations, and prepare high-quality reports, briefing papers and correspondence. You will play a key role in translating policy into practical outcomes by supporting implementation, monitoring performance and contributing to projects, reforms and continuous improvement initiatives.

Applicants will be assessed against the following suitability requirements:

• The essential criteria outlined in the attached JDF (00028262); and
• Ability to think through complexity by applying critical thinking to policy issues, navigating ambiguity and uncertainty, assessing risks and impacts, and making informed decisions; and
• Experience in, or knowledge of, policy, privacy, governance and technology considerations relating to digital identity, identity verification, digital credentials and emerging trust frameworks, or the ability to apply transferable policy, research and analytical skills in these areas.

There is one (1) full time permanent position available for immediate filling.

The successful applicant or applicants assessed as suitable through this process may receive further offers of employment (fixed term or permanent) in this or similar roles for a period of twelve (12) months from date of first appointment.

Stage 1: Application assessment, including the assessment of the applicants CV and cover letter against the requested suitability requirements.

Stage 2: Interview, shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview and further assessed against all the suitability requirements of the role.

Please, nominate two (2) referees who can provide feedback on your capacity to meet the role’s suitability requirements. At least one of the referees should be your most recent, immediate supervisor.
