This is a permanent full-time position commencing October 2026
The Commercial and Contracting Services Directorate is part of the Finance and Commercial Services Division and has responsibility for providing procurement and commercial legal support to the Department and Schools, for contract planning and management, insurance management and fleet management.
The Role
The successful applicant will contribute to planning and management of insurance arrangements for the Department and provide support to schools on insurance matters.
The successful applicant will contribute to planning and establishing commercial agreements (Licences) and activities between the Department and third parties in accordance with the Community Use of Public School Facilities Policy.
The successful applicant will provide support to Principals and Managers Corporate Services on commercial matters, including the development of licences, operational leases and other arrangements provided for by the School Education Act. This applicant will also support activities to minimise risk in terms of commercial arrangements. They will research and identify changes to legislation and policy that impact on schools’ commercial activities and prepare recommendations and reports for presentation to senior management.
The successful applicant will monitor compliance with the Department’s corporate governance, frameworks and policies and undertake research that contributes to the development of parliamentary and ministerial responses.
