We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The collaborative vision between TAG Architects and McCorkhill construction was to create an innovative and inclusive educational establishment that reflects the Western Australian natural environment, and to design a school that promotes student and staff engagement in a variety of conducive learning spaces. Piara Waters West (planning name) will be a bespoke, state of the art, educational facility with classes from Kindergarten to Year 6, along with an Endorsed Education Support Program (EESP), specialist learning spaces, collaborative planning and meeting spaces, library and undercover area.

The Role
The School Officer will play an important role in ensuring the smooth and effective day-to-day operation of the school office and will be a welcoming and professional first point of contact for students, parents, staff, visitors and the wider school community.
A key component of the role will be undertaking reception and front desk duties, including greeting visitors, answering telephone enquiries, responding to routine enquiries and requests for information, and providing friendly, efficient and professional customer service. The School Officer will assist in creating a welcoming and positive first impression of the school while ensuring information is communicated accurately and appropriately.
The role will also provide a broad range of general clerical and administrative support, including preparing correspondence, newsletters, notices and other school communications; distributing and collecting documents and mail; maintaining accurate records; entering data and generating routine reports; and supporting the day-to-day organisation of the school office.
The School Officer would provide student administration support, including assisting with enrolment procedures, maintaining student attendance information, generating routine correspondence relating to absenteeism and handling student-related information. The role calls for a high level of accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail when dealing with student and family information.
The School Officer would also undertake a range of financial and administrative processes, including handling and receipting monies in accordance with Department of Education procedures, assisting with financial record keeping and supporting the Manager Corporate Services with routine financial and administrative requirements.
In addition, the role will contribute to the management of school facilities, assets and resources, including reporting faults, coordinating repairs and maintenance, assisting with stocktakes and maintaining asset and resource registers. The School Officer may also assist with arrangements for school functions, including catering, travel arrangements and the out-of-hours use of school facilities.
The School Officer would work closely with the Manager Corporate Services and school administration team, supporting the induction and training of school support staff, assisting with recruitment processes, maintaining staff records and contacting relief staff as required.
The suitable applicants will ideally be organised, approachable and adaptable team member who is committed to providing high-quality customer service and administrative support and contributing positively to the establishment and ongoing development of Piara Waters West Primary School.

- Demonstrated ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
- Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
