Position Profile: Join the Neonatology team at Child and Adolescent Health Service, where we have opportunities for enthusiastic and ambitious nurses to join our large, supportive team. The Neonatology Registered Nurse works in collaboration with the neonatal team to provide care and expertise to the sickest newborn babies and infants in Western Australia.

Working across King Edward Memorial Hospital and Perth Children’s Hospital our Registered Nurses are provided with development opportunities to advance their clinical skills in Neonatal care. This includes a comprehensive orientation and induction programme, professional development courses, simulation training and the Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing: Neonatal Intensive Care.
This role involves the delivery of nursing care to patients with complex clinical needs within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. Applicants who bring experience from fast paced or high acuity clinical settings are encouraged to apply, particularly those with current or recent neonatal experience.
About the Directorate: Our Neonatology Service provides care for the most vulnerable newborns – those born prematurely or requiring specialized treatment during their initial months of life. Our extensive Neonatal Intensive Care Units, situated at both King Edward Memorial Hospital and Perth Children’s Hospital, oversee the well-being of approximately 3000 infants annually. Within our comprehensive service, we operate the Newborn Emergency Transport Service (NETS), a mobile intensive care unit designed for safely transporting critically ill babies across WA.
Our team boasts a diverse array of distinguished nursing positions, including Clinical Nurse Consultants, Lactation Consultants, Nutrition Specialists, Neonatal Nurse Educators, and an extensive range of Clinical Nurse Specialists.

- Ability to commence employment within four months of receiving an offer of employment.
- Minimum of 12 months experience in a hospital setting as a Registered Nurse.
- Recent experience in an acute care setting.
- Ability to meet the requirements for rotational shift work; encompassing early, late, and night shifts on a rotational basis across 7 days.
- Minimum of 0.63 FTE (Full Time Equivalent).
