About Our Team:

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health challenges.

CAMHS Inpatient and Hospital in the Home Service, located at Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH), Hollywood Hospital, and patient home settings, is an acute mental health inpatient service authorised under the WA Mental Health Act (2014). It provides 24/7 therapeutic care for children and adolescents up to 16 years old who require acute psychiatric support, whether admitted voluntarily or involuntarily when less restrictive care options are not suitable.

As the state-wide CAMHS Inpatient and Hospital in the Home Service offers a safe, developmentally appropriate, and therapeutic environment. The multidisciplinary team works closely with families and carers to deliver comprehensive diagnostic assessments, tailored therapeutic programs, and recovery-oriented management.

Operating within hospital and patient home settings, the service runs a seven-day program that includes short-term assessments, diagnostic clarification, treatment initiation, and group therapies designed to meet individual needs. The service is patient- and family-centred, with a strong focus on recovery and collaboration.

About the Role:

You will provide comprehensive and evidence-based nursing care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will demonstrate competence in clinical practice by delivering individualised care using a problem-orientated approach to patients with complex problems. You will provide patient care activities by providing goal-directed treatment and effective liaison with senior nursing and other health care personnel.

As the only State Child and Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient unit in Western Australia, we have flexible part time and full time shifts available and an opportunity to develop your skills in a leading tertiary hospital environment. If you have experience in adult mental health nursing and do not have paediatric mental health experience, we offer upskilling and training opportunities.

What you will bring:

  • Prior experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Experience with children and adolescents is an asset but not required
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team, and collaboratively across internal and external services and stakeholders
  • Keen interest in upskilling your clinical and leadership skills

Registration as a Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia is required.
