This is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
Position Profile: The Regional HR Manager positions are key leadership roles with accountability for the delivery of Human Resources and Industrial Relations services within their respective regions. Working in close partnership with regional and executive stakeholders, these positions provide strategic and operational leadership across a diverse workforce portfolio, ensuring high-quality, contemporary and customer-focused HR/IR services.
The positions have responsibility for HR team leadership and development, the provision of high-level HR/IR advice, governance, quality assurance, compliance, reporting, and the alignment of regional workforce services with WACHS strategic priorities.
These roles are being established at an important time for WACHS as workforce and service delivery models continue to evolve. The successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to lead through change, build trusted relationships, support staff and leaders through transition, and contribute to the ongoing development of sustainable workforce solutions across regional health services.
We are seeking leaders who are proactive, collaborative and values-driven, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with a compassionate and people-centred approach. Successful applicants will foster psychologically safe workplaces, build capability within their teams, and support managers with professionalism, empathy and sound judgement.
Our Regional HR Managers need to demonstrate a positive commitment to modelling our organisational values, safety and quality improvement, and the Code of Conduct in all aspects of their employment.
There are five (5) Regional HR Manager positions to be filled as Fixed Term Full Time appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. The positions will be based as follows (please indicate in your application your preferred district):
South West - based in Bunbury
Goldfields - based in Kalgoorlie
Wheatbelt - based in Northam
Pilbara - based in South Headland
Midwest - based in Geraldton
Area Profile: The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors.

Suitability recognises that a range of factors contribute to merit, including skills, knowledge, abilities, behaviours, ethical alignment and relevant operational requirements. The suitability requirements below are derived from the Job Description Form and define what will be assessed to determine your suitability for the role:
- Substantial experience in the delivery of human resource management consultancy and support services within a complex operational environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading, developing and supporting multidisciplinary HR teams across geographically dispersed locations, fostering engagement, capability and service excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships, influence stakeholders and provide proactive, practical and compassionate leadership during periods of change and transition.
- Possession of a current C or C-A Class Drivers Licence and the ability to travel within the region as required.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants found suitable for this position may be considered for other ‘similar’ vacancies within WACHS and/or the wider WA public sector.
