About the role

The Education, Employment and Transitional Services Directorate works towards assisting students to acquire, develop, practice and apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes now and in the future to take responsible control of their own lives.

The Prisoner Education Campus Manager is a leadership position, which focuses upon qualitative improvement in management and delivery of education and vocational training. The Campus Manager has responsibilities that relate directly to educational process, including curriculum, teaching, assessing, staff development and industry liaison.

Suitability Requirements

Through the recruitment process, we will be looking for a candidate who can demonstrate skills, experience and attributes in relation to the following:

1. Educational management - Provide leadership and effectively supervise staff.
2. Provision of an education service - Experience in providing an education service to equity and diverse clients including Aboriginal People.
3. Ethical behaviour - The ability to make ethical decisions on a daily basis.
4. Communication Skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
5. Resource management - Ability to manage financial and physical resources associated with the delivery of an education service.

Eligibility

The successful applicant must possess a four (4) year education degree or equivalent.

The successful applicant must also hold a Certificate IV Training and Assessment (this can be completed within six (6) months of employment).

To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Applicants found suitable but not recommended for this vacancy, may be considered for subsequent similar vacancies for a period of twelve (12) months, in accordance with section 7d of the Commissioner’s Instructions No.48 – Recruitment, Selection and Appointment to Permanent Vacancies, and section 9d of the Commissioner Instructions 49 - Recruitment, Selection and Appointment to Fixed Term Vacancies. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered in the Perth Metropolitan area during this period.
