About the role

The Workforce Services Directorate is responsible for the delivery of the Department’s industrial advice and consultancy services and delivery of a suite of specialist employee support services aligned to the Respect@Work framework that proactively promote psychological safety across the workforce.

The Principal Workforce Services Advisor is responsible for undertaking special projects that support and strengthen the functioning and services delivered by Workforce Services Directorate. The position is responsible for managing and participating in projects that ensure tools and policies are aligned, enhance employee engagement and improve organisational performance.

The position also provides high level support to the Executive Director Workforce Services in respect to the case management of contentious, complex and sensitive employee complaint/claim matters and oversights Directorate monitoring of service provision.

Suitability Requirements

Through the recruitment process, the panel will be looking for a candidate who can demonstrate skills, experience and attributes in relation to the following:

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, contentious and sensitive employee complaint and/or claim matters.
  • Display a high level of problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Display a proficient understanding of the industrial framework applicable to the workforce and ability to analyse the impacts in changes to legislation and policies.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing a highly efficient executive support service to senior management personnel. This includes operating with a strategic focus and the ability to direct and manage the administrative governance processes.
