What is the Role?

The Economic Regulation Authority is seeking an experienced and motivated Principal Regulatory Officer to join the Regulation Division on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role that contributes to the administration and ongoing development of Western Australia's Alternative Electricity Services (AES) Framework, supporting innovation in the electricity sector and contributing to the State's energy transition.

As the Principal Regulatory Officer, you will lead and manage projects that support the effective administration of the AES framework. You will under research and analysis, oversee the development and review of compliance guidelines, reports and training materials and the online database, and contribute to the continuous improvement of regulatory processes.

You will prepare high-quality recommendations and decision reports to senior staff and the Governing Body and provides advice to internal and external stakeholders on AES matters.

To be successful in this role you will be a strategic and collaborative professional with substantial experience in working with regulatory frameworks as a regulator or as a regulated entity. You will possess strong analytical capabilities and the ability to navigate complex regulatory issues while delivering practical and effective solutions. Knowledge of the electricity sector is an advantage, but not essential.
