About The Role:
This position supports the Project Manager and undertakes the strategic and operational management of one or more of Strategic Innovation projects and/or related programs.
The position manages strategic stakeholder engagement and collaboration strategies and relationships that support project outcomes.
Overseeing a small team and developing and contributing to a diverse range of operational and service issues focusing on continuous improvement and delivering person-centric and place-based solutions and outcomes.
Overseeing the implementation of service and operational improvements, projects and programs and contributing to their review and monitoring.
Maintaining an expert awareness of relevant trends and issues within the State, nationally and internationally in relation to the Department's core housing functions.
This role sits in the Strategic Innovation section of Housing Services. This team leads a range of initiatives focused on improving service delivery, workforce capability and housing outcomes across Western Australia. The team is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic reforms, pilot programs and business improvement initiatives that aim to empower public housing tenants to access and sustain safe and secure housing. We are committed to delivering culturally responsive, safe, and person-centred services that support better housing outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.
About You:
We are looking for someone who can lead complex projects and initiatives, manage competing priorities and navigate change. You will bring strong research and analytical skills, sound judgement and the ability to develop practical solutions to complex policy and service delivery issues. You will be confident engaging and negotiating with stakeholders, managing project risks and resources, and providing clear advice and recommendations to senior management.
This position operates in the context of Leading Others. This means that you will motivate and enable others to deliver high-quality work. You will balance time between doing the work and coaching, guiding and developing others. This requires a significant shift in thinking from ‘doing’ to supporting others to ‘do good work’; and consideration of present and future needs when allocating time to the team and projects you lead. You will articulate how work is to be done, providing clear direction and feedback.
How to Apply:
If you have what it takes to be part of our dynamic and forward-thinking team, submit the following in MS Word or PDF format only:
- A comprehensive CV that shows your skills, experiences and key achievements, including the contact details of two referees (with one being your current or most recent supervisor).
- Cover letter of two (2) pages or less, outlining how you meet the essential requirements of the role and demonstrate leadership behaviours.
Please ensure you apply before the closing deadline as we won’t accept late and incomplete applications.
