This is a 2 month fixed term, full-time position commencing November 2026 with possible extension (6 months) and/or permanency

The Department of Education’s strategic directions outline the commitment for every child, from Kindergarten to Year 12 to have access to high quality education underpinned by excellence in teaching and quality leadership. This is an education that meets the needs of the learner, preparing them for future success.

Service Design and Support provides the shared functions and support needed to provide better services to schools. It also coordinates, implements and supports programs, initiatives, and special projects. Its purpose is to provide strategy, policy and program oversight and operational support to Statewide Services.

The Role

This role is responsible for delivering high-quality online tools and services that support contemporary teaching and learning, while also developing policies and strategies that respond to emerging curriculum needs. You’ll provide expert advice and professional leadership to schools and system leaders, helping to shape the future of online learning across the Department.

We are ideally seeking an enthusiastic individual who can develop strategic and collaborative partnerships with stakeholders to drive the successful delivery of educational technologies and online learning systems, projects or strategies.

This role involves partnering with stakeholders to conceptualise future school and system requirements to influence and drive change that aligns to the Department’s strategic priorities and meets the needs of our customers. This requires a high-level understanding and experience of contemporary educational technologies and sound understanding of the K-12 education environment. Ideally you will have a strong understanding of the importance of student online safety consideration including relevant policies such as the Students Online in Public Schools policy and procedures.

2. Demonstrated high-level knowledge, understanding and experience with current and developing online learning policies and strategies.
3. Demonstrated ability to provide curriculum leadership and deal effectively with change in the area of online learning services delivery for K-12 education.
6. Demonstrated highly developed written communication skills, including experience in the preparation of digital resources and online services, tools and policies.
