About Us

The Insurance Commission of Western Australia is a state-owned Government Trading Enterprise that provides motor injury insurance to 2.7 million Western Australian motorists and manages the self-insurance arrangements of the Western Australian Government. The Insurance Commission is a major self-funded statutory authority at the heart of the Western Australian community.

The Opportunity

We are excited to offer four permanent Platform Owner roles within the Architecture and Delivery function. Each role will take strategic ownership of a key enterprise platform tower - Microsoft, Salesforce, ServiceNow or Integration, and shape how technology enables reliable, secure and effective services for the Insurance Commission and the Western Australian community.

As a Platform Owner, you will set the vision, roadmap and governance for your platform, guide investment and lifecycle decisions, and lead continuous improvement across performance, resilience, security and user experience. Working closely with architecture, engineering, product and business teams, you will turn organisational priorities into practical platform outcomes, strengthen adoption and enable faster, more consistent delivery of digital services.

This is an opportunity to influence enterprise technology at scale, build strong partnerships across the organisation and create lasting value through modern, well-governed platforms, while contributing to a culture shaped by Care, Courage and Collaboration.

For further information about the role, you can view the attached Job Description Form (JDF) or contact Avi Chatterjee, Head of Architecture and Delivery on (08) 9264 3464.

About You

You are a strategic technology leader who combines strong platform expertise with sound commercial judgement and a collaborative approach. You can translate complex technical considerations into clear priorities, influence stakeholders at all levels and create the governance, partnerships and ways of working needed to deliver secure, resilient and sustainable platform outcomes. You do not need deep expertise across every platform tower; significant ownership and governance experience in at least one relevant domain is essential.

You will bring demonstrated experience in:

  • Setting platform strategy, roadmaps, lifecycle plans and investment priorities for complex enterprise technology environments;
  • Owning and governing at least one of the following domains: Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365; Salesforce; ServiceNow; or enterprise integration and API-led platforms such as MuleSoft;
  • Leading cloud, SaaS or enterprise platforms with a focus on scalability, availability, resilience, cybersecurity and service performance;
  • Establishing governance frameworks, controls, service standards and performance measures that align with enterprise architecture, legislation and organisational policy;
  • Driving platform modernisation, adoption and continuous improvement, including the rationalisation of legacy capabilities and implementation of reusable, self-service solutions;
  • Managing platform risk, vendors, contracts, licensing, consumption and costs to achieve sustainable, value-for-money outcomes;
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams and building productive partnerships with architects, engineers, product teams, service providers and business stakeholders; and
  • Communicating complex technical concepts clearly, influencing strategic decisions and representing platform priorities in governance and executive forums.

As part of our Team, you will enjoy

  • Flexible working arrangements, including the opportunity to work from home.
  • Additional three public service holidays each year plus long service leave after seven years of service.
  • Ongoing career development, professional learning opportunities, and support to grow your skills and capabilities.
  • Salary packaging options, including novated leasing for a new vehicle.
  • Modern workplace including a parents and multi-faith room, conveniently located close to major public transport hubs.
  • Complimentary access to onsite wellness facilities, including a gym, sauna and swimming pool.
  • Bright and welcoming social spaces with complimentary coffee machines, stunning city and river views, and easy access to a range of dining and lifestyle amenities.
  • State-of-the-art end-of-trip facilities to support active and sustainable commuting.
