About PathWest: With over 2,600 employees across an extensive range of pathology and support services, PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA is committed to providing excellence and innovation in pathology testing, teaching and research. We offer a round-the-clock commitment to the health needs of the entire WA community through our laboratory facilities, collection centres, results lines and on-call clinicians. About the role:

We are seeking a Pathology Collector to join a dedicated healthcare team, providing high-quality specimen collection services across hospital, community, and domiciliary settings. In this role, you will collect and process a broad range of pathology specimens, including blood, urine, swabs, and specialised samples, ensuring accurate handling, preparation, and transportation through the Laboratory Information System (LIS).

You will deliver exceptional patient care to a diverse patient population, maintain quality and compliance standards, monitor equipment and consumables, and support administrative and quality assurance activities. The successful candidate will also participate in ongoing professional development, contribute to staff and student mentoring, and help ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-focused pathology services.

To find out more about the role: Please contact Shaun Robinson, Manager Pathology Collection Services on 0447 598 272.

We are committed to ensuring our hiring processes are inclusive.

If you are an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person, a young person or a person with a disability seeking support with your application, please reach out to Jobs and Skills WA on 13 64 64.

For the full duties and role requirement: Please see the attached Job Description Form.

WA Health is committed to supporting and building a culturally diverse workforce and workplace culture that values diversity and inclusion. We welcome and encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, young people, people of diverse sexualities and genders, people with disabilities, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Eligibility to Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have valid Australian work rights. This includes visa holders. Permanent appointments may be made to individuals who hold citizenship, permanent residency, or visas that enable ongoing employment in Australia.

Other Conditions:  WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake a criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. As well as undertaking a criminal record screening and integrity checking, you may also be required to undertake a working with children check (if required for the role) and a pre-employment health assessment. We may ask referees to comment on your integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour. Please note that adverse information does not necessarily disqualify an applicant but will be considered as part of the appointment process.

Please note this recruitment process requires completion of satisfactory Pre-Employment Health Assessment (PEHA).  Any offer of employment with PathWest is conditional on satisfactory PEHA to ensure you are able to perform the inherent requirements of the position. An unsatisfactory PEHA will result in the offer of employment being withdrawn.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants found suitable for this position may be considered for other ‘similar’ vacancies within PathWest and/or the wider WA public sector. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
