About the role

The Manager Strategic Security Risk and Compliance is responsible for:

• Managing the Courts Security framework.
• Analyses and assesses the strategic security risk environment and facilitates the findings into operational effort.
• Facilitates operational level security risk assessments and provides specialist risk advice to internal and external stakeholders.
• Manages the governance and compliance activities of the Directorate.
• Manages responses to internal and external audits of security systems and processes.
• Manages responses and action plans resulting from independent external reviews, including those of the Inspector of Custodial Services.
• Manages improvements to security infrastructure.
• Maintains compliance with the Directorate and Department risk frameworks.
• Ensures that physical, procedural and dynamic security measures are risk based, integrated and synchronised.

Suitability Requirements

Through the recruitment process, we will be looking for a candidate who can demonstrate skills, experience and attributes in relation to the following:

Security Risk Management: Knowledge and experience in the application of security risk management standards and methodologies in a complex environment. Knowledge and experience in the development of security risk management policies, processes and systems. The ability to develop strategic level security risk assessments including the development of treatment action plans that are practicable, achievable and commensurate with the level of residual/retained risk.

Communication Skills: Highly developed written and verbal communication skills. The ability to provide strategic advice to senior managers and executives. The ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts with clarity and ease.

Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge and experience in protective security operations including risk based planning. Knowledge and experience in intelligence analysis. Knowledge and experience in business continuity planning.

To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered at Perth Metropolitan area during this period.
