About the role

The State Solicitor's Office is seeking a people-focused Manager Legal Practice Support to provide strategic and operational leadership to the Legal Practice Support function. 

Reporting to the Director, Legal Practice Support, you will lead a team of Senior Managing Law Clerks and work closely with legal leaders across the Office to ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient and client-focused support services.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a large and highly valued function comprising of 70 paralegal and legal assistants who play a critical role in supporting the delivery of legal services to the Western Australian Government. You will drive service excellence, build workforce capability and champion continuous improvement across the function.

As the Manager Legal Practice Support, you will:

  • Lead and support the Senior Managing Law Clerks to build capability, drive performance and deliver high-quality services.
  • Oversee the operations of the Legal Practice Support function, including workforce planning and resource allocation.
  • Build strong relationships with legal leaders and key stakeholders to support business outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and provide high-level advice on legal practice support, procedures and complex legal matters.

  • Experience leading and managing legal support, paralegal or professional services teams.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a commitment to coaching, mentoring and developing staff.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Sound understanding of legal practice processes and legal support services.
  • The ability to think strategically while managing operational priorities.
