About the Role:

The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) is seeking a Manager Clinical Coding to lead our Clinical Coding Department at Perth Children’s Hospital and ensure the integrity of clinical data that supports high quality care for children and young people across WA.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in the strategic direction of our services, ensuring our clinical coding services remain compliant, responsive, sustainable, and aligned with evolving healthcare priorities.

Reporting to the Director Medical Services, you will lead and grow a capable team, oversee service performance, and lead relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including state and national bodies.

As a subject matter expert, you will provide strategic advice on paediatric and neonatal clinical coding, classification standards and Activity Based Funding (ABF), ensuring coded data supports accurate reporting, informed decision-making and optimal funding outcomes.

Working closely with senior leaders, clinical teams and stakeholders across WA Health and nationally, you will drive improvements in coding quality, clinical documentation, audit and quality assurance, workforce capability, digital systems and performance analytics and lead the development and implementation of contemporary policies, procedures, health information standards and governance frameworks that strengthen compliance, manage risk and support best practice.

You will also represent CAHS in broader clinical coding, health information, and funding reform initiatives, with opportunity to influence policy and contribute to the future direction of paediatric clinical coding.

If you are an experienced leader with expert knowledge of tertiary paediatric clinical coding, classification standards, and ABF, together with the strategic capability to translate complex data and coding issues into practical solutions and improved organisational outcomes, we encourage you to apply.
