The Role

As a Library Officer, you will play a vital role in providing clerical and library support. This role may include tasks such as preparing correspondence, booking facilities, and assisting with stocktaking. Your responsibility extends to maintaining a safe and orderly library environment, including the upkeep of equipment, displays, and the repair of damaged books, as well as the proper covering of new books.

Operating library systems would be part of your daily tasks, ensuring that records are up-to-date, new resources are added, and deleted or archived items are appropriately documented with accurate barcoding. Timely and effective processing of loans and returns is crucial to ensure accessibility for students, staff, and parents.

The successful applicant will ideally be the go-to person for inquiries, guiding students, staff, and parents in locating library resources and information. They will also handle the collection and receipt of money in adherence to Departmental procedures when necessary.
