We are establishing a 12 month appointment pool for vacancies that may arise. We may offer permanent, fixed term, full time, part time or casual appointments, with the possibility of a further term and/or permanency.

About You

We are currently seeking experienced plumbers and gas fitters with expertise across domestic, commercial and industrial plumbing and gas services, including water, sanitary, drainage, roofing, and gas fitting systems, to plan, develop and deliver high-quality training and assessment to students, apprentices, trainees and industry participants.

The Lecturer's role involves delivering and assessing training across a range of plumbing and gas qualifications and skill sets, mentoring and supporting students to achieve successful learning outcomes, and maintaining contemporary industry knowledge through ongoing professional development. You will bring current industry experience and a passion for developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople, ensuring training reflects industry standards, regulatory requirements and safe work practices.

Suitability Requirements

To be considered suitable for this position, you will:

  • Essential: At least 5 years industry experience (post apprenticeship) and a Tradespersons Plumbing License (WA).
  • Desirable: A current Class G Gasfitting Permit; Plumbing Contractors license
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116, TAE40110), or a secondary teaching qualification with an Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011, TAESS00019, or TAESS00024) in line with the Registration Standards 2025. Applicants who do not yet hold the required VET qualification may still apply; however, the successful candidate must enrol in an approved training and assessment qualification and complete it within two years of commencing.
  • Have relevant skills and experience to meet the selection criteria and role requirements as outlined in the attached JDF.

  • Possess current and valid Australian working rights (e.g. Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or an appropriate working visa). Please note, visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • Hold, or have the ability to obtain:
    • Department of Education Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
    • Working With Children (WWC) Card
