The Role
We are seeking to appoint a Human Resource Officer (HRO) to join our team. This role is critical to the daily operation of the College. Each morning, the HRO makes sure staff absences are covered so every class has a teacher.
The HRO provides advice and support across human resource activities and operations. This includes coordinating leave and relief, managing job vacancies, processing and maintaining information in the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS), assisting with staff induction, probation and performance management processes, and providing HR advice and information to staff.
The successful applicant will ideally have sound written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with staff and work within a team. They will build and maintain positive relationships with relief staff so absences are covered reliably. They should also have good conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to implement appropriate strategies to manage and coordinate human resource activities in a busy school environment.
Coordinating leave and relief includes duties outside normal school hours. The successful applicant will work modified hours with a 7.00am start each day.
