The Delivery and Policy Division provides strategic leadership and coordination to ensure whole-of-government priorities are effectively delivered. It is structured under two key groups: Delivery Unit and Policy. Together, these functions enable DPC to provide independent, evidence-based advice and ensure alignment between Government decision making and the delivery of Government priorities. 

About the Roles

We are seeking two outstanding Executive leaders to lead the Department’s Policy and Delivery functions. Both roles report to the Deputy Director General, Delivery and Policy, and work directly with the Premier, Ministers, Cabinet and across the public sector on the Government's most significant priorities.

Head of Policy
This role leads the Department’s Policy Group and oversees the development of strategic policy advice across complex whole-of-government issues including economic diversification, health services, housing, safe and inclusive communities, the energy transition, the environment and major infrastructure projects. You will drive an integrated policy agenda and will be responsible for advising the Premier and the Expenditure Review Committee on statewide budget expenditure.

Head of Delivery Unit
The Head of Delivery Unit is responsible for the oversight and performance reporting to Government on the delivery of its priorities and commitments, aligning agencies across the sector to drive results. The role also leads time-limited whole-of-government projects requiring dedicated focus.

Both roles call for leaders who can strategically navigate complexity, sense the political and social environment and deliver on high-leverage priorities with resilience and sound judgement. You will have a track record of influencing senior stakeholders across government, industry and the private sector and proven experience building capable and diverse teams with a values-based leadership approach.

Permanent appointment:

• To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia at the time of applying.
