About VenuesWest

VenuesWest enriches the lives of Western Australians by offering opportunities for those pursuing elite sport, a range of options for individuals or families choosing to live healthy, active lifestyles and a variety of entertainment experiences for everyone. Our vision is to be Australia’s leading provider of sport and entertainment venues and precincts.

About the Role

The General Manager Content and Programming is responsible for driving commercial performance, venue utilisation and audience growth through the acquisition, booking, scheduling and programming of a diverse portfolio of entertainment, sporting, cultural, community and commercial content across VenuesWest's self-managed venues.

The role works collaboratively with promoters, sporting bodies, government agencies, community organisations and commercial partners to attract, secure and retain major events, competitions and long-term content opportunities. Through the delivery of a balanced and sustainable event calendar, the role enhances customer experiences, broadens community participation, generates economic and social value, and maximises commercial returns across the VenuesWest portfolio.

Reporting to the Executive Director Commercial, the role will develop content pipelines, lead bid and negotiation processes, manage venue bookings and programming, and secure commercial and contractual arrangements before handover to venue and event delivery teams.

The role works closely with the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, other government agencies and industry stakeholders to align content acquisition and programming activities with broader economic, social and policy outcomes for Western Australia.

This is a full time, fixed term role for a period of 5 years with the possibility of extension. It is expected that this role will be sometimes required to work outside normal business hours including weekends and nights. Flexible working arrangements will be discussed with the successful candidate.

Whilst the position will be based at Perth High Performance Centre in Mount Claremont, mobility will be required between the portfolio of facilities.
